Gloucester Scorpions v Tuncurry Black 7 - 0 to Gloucester
Saturday 27th July
On a wet and cool day in Gloucester we met the Tuncurry Tigers.
Some eye lit up with a few mud puddles on the pitch.
The game started well with opportunities for both teams. The older Tuncurry used their physical presence against the littler and young Gloucester side. Our goal keeper, Brock Gruisinga kept us in the game early ... Oscar Campbell and Max Honeyman did exactly what was asked of them to slow down a very good Tuncurry striker. the effort was commendable by all. The Gloucester side using their passing game and speed to create a few chances.
Just on the stroke of half time with a little confusion at the back allowed the Tuncurry side to score.
The second half was much of the same with chances for both teams. Roy Fisher tried hard in the middle. Our strikers Will Andrews and Zeke Predebon narrowly missing. Even Lachie Honeyman with a long range shot just couldn't find the net. The Tuncurry side had a very good finish to go 2 - 0 up.
The player of the match was Fletcher Compton with a strong presence at the back and some skill runs forward to turn defence into attack.
Even though it was a loss, the coaches were very proud of the effort today.

It was an early, cold and breezy morning in Pacific Palms but that did not deter the U 11 squad from going out hard. Pacific Palms secured the first goal but it didn’t take too long for Gloucester to get one back. It was a tight game at half time 3-2 Gloucesters’ way but unfortunately Pacific Palms found the back of the net just before full time. Great teamwork everyone, well done on your draw

With a sheepish start by Gloucester, Tuncurry got out to a 2-0 lead. After a couple of close shots on goals, Gloucester struck one back, just before half time, with a pass from Will to Tom who finished it off and taking us to 2-1 at half time.
We came out a different team after an inspiring speech by our super coach Fish. Aiden scored off another pass from Will, who then scored the last goal to put us in front for a 3-2 win. Well done Gloucester!
Next Saturday we play in Gloucester against Tuncurry Black at 11am.
