Gala Days 2023
Taree Gala Day - 27th August
Below you will find all of the information you will need for the day and the draw. We reserve the right to change the draw if needed. If any changes do occur, we will let you know the day before.
Remember, this is a non competitive day, to finish the year off in a fun way.
Field set up
All Taree coaches are expected to be at the fields by 8 am to help set up fields. If other coaches from other clubs can help, it would be appreciated too.
Field pack up
The last two teams on the fields are expected to pack up the field. All equipment is returned to the back of our club house.
Entry Fee
Nil
Canteen & BBQ Facilities
Full canteen will be running on the day. We urge you to encourage your players and their families to support our canteen & BBQ. We have chosen to make entry free, but there are some real costs associated with the day (extra line marking, game leaders etc). Canteen will be our only source of revenue on the day.
Game Leaders
We have invited our regular game leaders to do some games. The reality is there will not be enough for all games. Be prepared as coach to lead the games please.
Game Lengths
The following age groups are 25 minute games (no half time or change of end):
- Under 6s
- Under 7s
- Under 9s
- Under 10s & 11s
Time slots are alternating for the above ages so there will be 35 minutes break between each game.
For Under 8s we are going to run as 20 minute games as there are only three teams nominated. We have made up an additional field (field 2) to allow your games to be back to back given the bye. We don’t want kids standing around for an hour between games. Ideally, we get one more 8s team before next week and then we will align with the other age groups. Note field 2 has not been used for a few years (since the floods) and is a little bumpy. It is safe to play on.
Other than 8s, we will sound a hooter to start and finish games. Under 8s will need to keep time for the end of their games.
Club House Facilities
Our new club house will be in operation. Change rooms will available but of course will need to be shared. We will also be using the change rooms as additional toilet facilities so make sure kids are not left unaccompanied in there.
The large awning is great for shade, but the reality is 300 players and their families will not fit
underneath it. If you have a gazebo, bring it along.
